Electrical measurement of partial discharges (TE) with repetitive voltage pulses with short rise time
IEC/TS 61934 is a technical specification for electrical measurements of partial discharges (PD) in offline operation, which occur in electrical insulation systems (EIS) under stresses with repetitive voltage pulses caused by power electronics equipment. Typical applications are EIS of devices fed by power electronics, such as motors, reactors and wind power generators. Excluded from the scope of this Technical Specification are - methods based on optical or acoustic PD detection, - applications of PD measurements when exposed to non-repetitive voltage pulses, such as lightning impulse pulses, or switching impulse pulses from switches. K 183 "Assessment and Qualification of Electrical Insulation Materials and Insulation Systems" (AK 183.0.3 "Electrical Tests") of the DKE German Commission for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies in DIN and VDE is responsible.
