In high frequency technology (RF technology), there are frequently high voltages associated with high frequencies. For this, conventional relay cannot be used. The high frequency relay of SPS electronic are designed for these applications. In our electronic age electromechanical relays are irreplaceable. Order your free sample now!

Numerous applications in high frequency technology (RF technology) require the switching capabilities of the outstanding electromechanical relays. The right choice of the switch depends on many factors, among other things, the RF power and the stresses that occur. The high frequency relays of SPS electronic are primarily used at high switching capacity and high voltages in the lower / middle frequency range.
As a base type, the relay RL 42 is developed with double pole double throw contacts. This relay can switch-on or changeover voltages up to 6,000 V AC. For simple applications, the variant RL 21 with single pole double throw contact is available. If higher switching voltages required, use the relay RL 42-h: Its double pole double throw contacts can be supplied with voltages up to 10,000 V.
Electromechanical RF relay can not be replaced by electronic switches. Only for low power applications, an electronic switch can replace an electromechanical relay. But even then, the question of the potential release from the excitation circuit to switching circuit is not clear. As with conventional electromechanical RF relays ensures a safe electrical insulation.
Even Reed relays can not replace electromechanical relays. Due to the low current load, the use of Reed relays is often not possible. In addition, the operating principle of the Reed relay has a drawback: Through the setup, the Reed contact has to open “on its own”. It often happens that the contact remains “connected” - absolutely prohibitive for several applications.
Lastly, vacuum relay could be considered as an alternative. Relays with this technique - not least because of the high price - are rarely used. The large design and the delicate glass art are disadvantageous. Since vacuum relays can switch on only small currents / powers, also it is not a viable alternative to the electromechanical relays of SPS electronic.
