Modern digital technology and safety current limitation for unproblematic workspace designs.
The workstation presented here for testing electrical hedge trimmers was developed in coordination with our customer. The customer needed a solution allowing for ergonomic testing of two hedge trimmers at the same time.
Workstation: Extra wide DUT enclosures
The test products can be inserted easily and comfortably into the testing area. The hedge trimmers do not need to be identical – it is also possible to test different types at the same time (even with different length “blades”). Various country-specific plug variations can be contacted using a universal outlet. The functional test is completed concurrently for both hedge trimmers; then a high-voltage test is completed for each trimmer individually. To ensure the user is protected from the noise generated by the two hedge trimmers during the testing process, a test hood was used instead of a light curtain.
In this case, SPS electronic manufactured an extra-wide DUT enclosure, allowing all currently available test product types to be tested at the same workstation. To keep the external dimensions of the workstation to a minimum, the components needed for the test were integrated into the base of the DUT enclosure to save space. This helped us create a compact workstation which could be set up wherever the customer needed in their manufacturing halls.
We at SPS electronic specialise in developing testing and inspection systems tailored to customer requirements. Whenever unique requirements apply to a testing task – whether these are the order of parameters to be tested, conditions for testing, or the way test approval is completed – with our expert knowledge and many years of experience, we always find the right solution.
Give us a try – we will be happy to develop the right testing system for your needs!Print page
