The system shown is a compact test system for the testing of products designed for the area of medical technology. All of the electrical tests required in IEC 601 (with one application part or element) can be performed with this device.

As any modern test system this one is controlled by a simple Windows interface via your PC. The software can be run on all current operating systems (WIN 9x /WIN-NT/W2K etc.).

 

Via a test editor the specifications can be created and changed. All of the test steps specified by the hardware can be inserted into the test programme as often as you like and at any position. In addition, there are visual test steps, info steps or test steps available in which scanned-in pictures can be displayed if guidance is needed. The program will then perform the testing of the pre-set test specification and display the relevant test data. If required, a test protocol can be created or the data can be stored in a data base.

Any medical products which have to be tested for electrical safety in accordance with IEC 601 can be connected to this system. The main tests are:

• earth bond test

• insulation resistance tests (line side)

• insulation resistance tests (at an application part/element of DUT)

• high voltage tests (line side)

• high voltage tests (at an application part/element of DUT)

• line leakage tests (according to IEC 601)

With line leakage tests you can perform earth, housing and patient line leakage measurements. With patient line leakage measurements you can also perform measurements with power supply voltage at the application part or element of the DUT. In addition the simulations (N.C. / S.F.C.) required by standard for the products B, BF or CF can be switched. The voltage range for the line leakage tests can be adjusted via a programmable source in the range of 50 up to 270 VAC.

Via high voltage plug and socket connections at the back of the device various test adapters can be connected. Test enclosures, test areas with light curtain fuse protection or test areas with 2-hand fuse protection are possible and applicable depending on individual requirements.
