ST 3800G

Surgetester ST3800G
  • With the Surge Tester ST 3800 winding goods like stators, rotors, transformers etc. can be tested for insulation damages and predamages
  • Not only already existing interturn short-circuits are being detected; the test procedure also detects predamages that are not yet recognized as electric interturn short-circuit
  • Scope of testing functions, base device:
    • Surge test up to 6000 VDC / 40 nF
    • High voltage test up to 6000 VDC / 10 mA
    • Insulation measurement up to 6000 VDC / 6 GOhm
    • PI / DAR measurement
  • Extensions:
    • Resistance measurement
    • High voltage test up to 5500 VAC
    • Direction-of-rotation reckognition
    • Matrix for 2, 3 and 2x3 coils
    • Temperature measurement
  • With the bundled WINDOWS software the devices can be controlled through the ethernet interface by a normal PC

The impulse winding test is the best possible way to test the inner insulation of a coil. With this test method, interturn short circuits can be detected and existing defects which are not yet electric interturn short circuits are detected as well. Such existing defects will turn into an interturn short circuit only when operated by means of thermal or mechanical influences which will then inevitably lead to a breakdown of the coils.

Series ST 3800 devices are mainly applied in batch production as well as in laboratories and in development. The risk of an early failure can be substantially reduced for all high quality products, such as transformers, motors, coils, inductors, etc.

The device is programmed and operated via a user-friendly WINDOWS interface. Since an integrated hard disk is used as storage medium for the master curves, storage of several thousand curves and test programmes is easily possible.
