High voltage test device
The high voltage test is the most important method for each safety test. The high voltage test can in principle be carried out at DUTs of class of protection I (with PE conductor) and class of protection II (without PE conductor). During this test it is verified if the insulation of the current-carrying conductors and the safety distance to the housing has been properly executed. More often than not this test is performed by hand. The link between man, high voltage test device and DUT is the safety test pistol. It is to safely contact the high voltage and protect man from the life-endangering contact with high voltage.
As reference value for the high voltage twice the nominal value of the DUT plus 1000 V is assumed. With a 230-Volt-device this means: 1000 V + 2 x 230 V = 1460 V.
For this SPS electronic developed safety pistols SP 02 and SP 03 as high voltage test device which fully meet these requirements. The housing of the test pistol is unbreakable.
Great importance was placed on the ergonomics and the handling of the test pistol at the company SPS when developing same. With a constant application a problem-free handling plays a crucial role – for the test comfort and thus for the test safety, too.
The tungsten test prod of this safety test device is non-wearing. The test system SP is supplied with 2m connection cable. As part of the extensive range of accessories a special cable length of 10m is available for this test system.
